Community boosts are a member-funded mechanic: members of a community can chip in to raise that community's member cap or unlock optional perks for everyone in it. Independent from your personal Nocx+ / Ultra subscription. Detailed pricing surfaces inside the community when you reach a cap.

Do I need to pay to use Nocx?
No. The Free tier is the product. Every privacy guarantee, every encryption protocol, every conversation type is on Free. Paid tiers add storage, cosmetics, and higher community caps — never a security floor.
What happens if I cancel Nocx+ or Ultra?
Your vault stays read-only — your data is not deleted, you can still download anything in it. New uploads stop. Custom themes and cosmetic unlocks revert to Free-tier defaults. Re-subscribing restores write access immediately.
Is there a free trial?
No. The Free tier is the trial. We'd rather you decide based on what the product actually is than on a countdown clock.
Why are there no purchase buttons on this page?
Upsells happen in-app, when you've reached a feature that the paid tier unlocks. That way you know exactly what you're paying for. The pricing page exists so you can verify what costs what before installing — not to push you into Stripe checkout from the marketing site.
What's the refund policy?
EU consumer-protection rules apply — see the Terms of Service §refund. Short version: a reasonable refund window for the most recent billing cycle if you contact us promptly. Annual plans are pro-rated.
Do you offer student or non-profit discounts?
This is on our list. We don't have a formal discount program at launch. If you run a non-profit or activist group with a real budget constraint, email hello@nocx.app — we'd rather you have the tool than not.
How is payment processed?
Stripe handles all checkout. We never see your card details. The only billing data on our server is the subscription tier flag itself — yes/no, plus the Stripe customer ID for renewal.
Annual or monthly billing?
Both — toggle inside the app at checkout. Annual saves roughly two months. Same features either way.
