Three lengths. Pick whichever fits your piece. The shortest is for headlines; the longest is for "in their own words" sidebars.
Nocx is a private real-time messenger with full community features and end-to-end encryption built on standards-track primitives. Communities, groups, and DMs are end-to-end encrypted. The server stores ciphertext, never plaintext — even the operator is structurally incapable of reading messages. The single exception is opt-in and visible: a community owner may add a Nocx-hosted bot, whose channels Nocx can read — disclosed before creation and labeled to every member. Available on Linux, Windows, macOS, Android; iOS in development.
Nocx is an end-to-end encrypted messaging app for communities. It pairs full real-time community-server features — servers with text/voice/announcement/forum/file-share channels, category organization, roles, moderation tools — with strong, modern cryptography on every conversation, including direct messages. Per-channel vault keys rotate when membership changes; the server stores opaque ciphertext and never holds a decryption key. Two extra "secret" conversation types (Secret DMs and Secret Groups) keep no permanent server history: delivery rides a 7-day server-blind ephemeral queue, or pure libp2p in P2P mode. The product is built on a single Flutter codebase with a Rust cryptographic core, available on Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android, with iOS in development. Nocx is built by an independent EU team with no venture capital and no plans to take any — the product is funded by subscriptions, so its incentives stay aligned with the people using it instead of with selling access to them.
Nocx is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application that combines full real-time community-server features with strong, standards-track cryptography on every conversation. Where most "private messengers" focus on one-on-one direct messaging, Nocx extends the same protections to community-scale conversations: servers with text channels, voice channels, announcement channels, forum channels, and file-share channels, organized into categories, complete with roles, permissions, and moderation tools.
The cryptographic model is the differentiator. Direct messages use X3DH and the Double Ratchet — an openly-specified algorithm family designed for forward secrecy and future secrecy. Community channels and groups use a per-parent vault key that is rotated whenever membership changes, sealed via HPKE (RFC 9180) into a single per-epoch wrap blob with one slot per active member's identity public key. Each member's client unwraps its own slot using its private key; the unwrapped vault key never touches the server. The server stores ciphertext addressed to opaque message identifiers and has no path to a decryption key.
For threat models where permanent server-side history is unwanted, Nocx ships two additional conversation types — Secret DMs and Secret Groups — with no permanent server storage. In the default Hybrid mode, delivery rides a 7-day server-blind ephemeral queue of recipient-addressed ciphertext the server can neither decrypt nor distinguish from a regular message blob; in P2P mode they run over libp2p with no server transport at all. Voice and video calls use WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP; the TURN relay infrastructure routes encrypted packets only and cannot decrypt media.
Nocx is built on a single Flutter codebase with a Rust cryptographic core (X3DH, Double Ratchet, HPKE, AEAD primitives, SQLCipher local-storage). The same code ships on Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android, with iOS coming via the Apple Developer Program post-company-incorporation.
Nocx is built by an independent EU team. There is no venture capital and no plans to take any. The product is funded by user subscriptions — three tiers, Free, Nocx+, and Ultra — so the people building it answer to the people paying for it instead of to investors whose return depends on extracting value from user behavior. The cryptographic claims are auditable: the wire protocol, the vault-key model, and the database schema ship in the repository, and the client source is available for inspection under an audit-only license — the public mirror goes live with launch.
Marks & lockups.
Dragon mark, full lockup, and the geometric secondary glyph. SVG vectorization is in progress — raster files are available now; SVG ships before public launch.
Asset note: press-kit asset files are not yet live at the URLs above — SVG vectorization completes before public launch. For requests in the interim, email press@nocx.app.
Pre-approved product screenshots.
Five canonical screenshots — DM view, server with channels, Secret Group, settings, theme gallery. 2× pixel density, PNG. Available alongside the brand assets above. Email press@nocx.app for higher-density variants or specific scenarios.
